Creative Director, Photographer, Cinematographer, & Director based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
What up? Thanks for coming to my site. I appreciate you taking a look at the things i’ve created.
Here is a little backstory on how I got here:
I originally got the itch to pursue a career in the creative space after landing a job as a photojournalist for a local tv station while I was in college. After graduating with a degree in Journalism, I quickly decided that the news was not for me. I pivoted into an opportunity to work in the film department at Dixie State University (Now called Utah Tech University) where we worked on everything from commercials to documentaries and even helped make student films.
After a couple of years in that world, I decided it was time to take the next step in my career. In 2014 I moved to northern Utah and started as a videographer working for Vivint, a company in the smart home/home security space. This was definitely where a majority of my growth, not only as a creative but also as a leader really accelerated. One thing I loved about my time at Vivint was how we always had our finger on the pulse of the business. We always aimed to make a positive impact on the business through our creative process. I grew from an individual contributor to Creative Director and worked on everything from internal training content to nationally broadcast commercials. At the end of my 8-year run with the company, I left my position as Creative Director to head to a startup called Ember. Ember is in the vacation real estate business, focused on co-ownership vacation homes. They say timing is everything, and although things looked promising initially, in 2022 the real estate market took a turn for the worse and had a major impact on what we were trying to do from a marketing standpoint. That impact has led me to this point today, where I’m currently operating as a freelance photographer and videographer.
Throughout the years I’ve worked on almost every type of project you can imagine. From commercials to social media content, from weddings to documentaries, from studio work to travel photography, from video biographies to corporate training, and from real estate to portraiture. What I’ve realized is that my passion is helping others tell their stories, and helping make an impact on businesses.
I feel fortunate to have had the experiences in my career that I have to this point. I’ve traveled the country and the world chasing stories and looking to share the way I see our beautiful world. There are so many amazing stories yet to be told. I look forward to continuing to create more of them.
